Summary
February 6, 2025
Dear valued customers,
It’s been a couple of days now since we’ve sidestepped the tariffs for another month. We’ve taken a breath, but our general feelings remain unchanged: we are in this together. We had the letter below in our holster, ready to be fired out had the tariffs been enforced, we think we still want to share it with
you. Here’s the letter:
We want to reach out to you to assure you we are active in our reaction to the tariffs. It is impossible to say where our two countries will stand at the end of the week, or even month, let alone in six months or a year, so deciding on a firm strategy would be difficult at this point.
We have always seen our relationship together not as just a financial transaction, but as a partnership. All successful partnerships function best when both parties share in each other’s growth and success, but also when we support each other in more difficult times.
In the short term our low Canadian dollar will give your American dollar a price advantage which helps soften the tariff’s cost. In the long term we are working through all potential options to continue to be your valued partner. We cannot say for certain how it will look at this point, what it will entail, but we can assure you that we are committed to your partnership with us, and committed to overcoming the tariffs together. We are working on clarifying our supply chain, and working to mitigate potential retaliatory tariffs (though raw materials had not been on the Canadian list as of this week).
Your partnership with us, your relationship with us, and your business with us are immensely important to us. Together we are certain we can work through this and come out the other side with our relationship strengthened. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Your Pano Cap Team
